Equipments for Clay Pigeon Shooting:
The main gadget for the Clay Pigeon Shooting is the Shotgun, which is a smooth barrelled gun, with the barrel length in excess of 60.96 cm (24inches) and a barrel with the bore not exceeding 5.08 cm (2 inches). The gun don’t have any magazines for holding cartridges, only two cartridges can be loaded at a time. As per directions only 12 bore shotguns which comes to 0.729 inches can be used at maximum not more than that. The length of the barrel varies from 26 to 32 inches. The cartridges used for Clay Shooting are basically of short size not exceeding 2.6 mm, the weight of the shot loaded must be 28 grams maximum.

The targets which are used in Clay Shooting resembles like an inverted saucer which is made from mixture of pitch and chalk. These are designed in such a manner that they breaks when being hit by the shot. The targets differ with various discipline, but the standard is 110m target which is used in all the trap and skeet disciplines.

The machine which launches the targets in the Clay Shooting are spring loaded flywheel or rotational device which launches the targets with a distance up to 100 meters. The machine also varies like from very simple, hand cocked, hand loaded and hand released types. There are also highly sophisticated fully automatic variety also which is capable to hold up to 600 targets with remote control button to release the target. Mainly the manual machine is used to launch the targets.
